Terms of Service
Last updated July 21, 2026
These terms govern your use of Lucid Dream Finance. They're written to be readable rather than impressive. By creating an account you agree to them.
The service
Lucid Dream Finance is bookkeeping software. It records what you tell it and produces reports from those records. It is a tool, not an accountant.
We are not a bank, and we do not move money. Where the product connects to a bank or a payment processor, it reads data or hands you off to that provider; the relationship for those services is between you and them.
Not professional advice
Nothing in the product is accounting, tax, legal, or investment advice. Reports, forecasts, and AI-generated suggestions are informational and may be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for the accuracy of your books and for any filing you make.
Please have a qualified professional review anything that matters.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract.
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You're responsible for anyone you invite into your organization.
- Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Your data
Your business records remain yours. We claim no ownership over them. We access them only to operate the service, to help you when you ask, or where the law requires.
You can export or delete your data at any time. How we handle it is described in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, including any personal data about your own customers or employees.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, including disguising the source of funds.
- Attempt to access another organization's data, or probe or disrupt the service.
- Resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
- Upload malware, or content you have no right to share.
We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk.
Plans, billing, and trials
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Prices are shown on the pricing page.
- Free trials end automatically. We'll never charge you during a trial without you choosing a plan.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- We generally don't offer refunds for partial periods, but if something has gone genuinely wrong, contact us — we'd rather sort it out.
- If a payment fails, we may downgrade your account to read-only. Your data stays intact and your reports stay viewable.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice before increasing the price of your plan.
Availability
We work to keep the service running, but we don’t promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, outages at our providers, and faults happen. We’ll aim to give notice of planned downtime.
Keeping your own copies of anything critical is sensible, and the product lets you export your records.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, that we’re required to act on, or that has gone unpaid — and other than in serious cases, we’ll try to reach you first.
Deleting a company permanently removes its records and uploaded files. That cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits. Where that’s the case, they apply to the maximum extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we’ll notify account holders and update the date above. If you continue using the service afterwards, the updated terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can cancel.
